Hello Sway!

Sway is a cool new Office app from Microsoft. I got an invite to its Preview and made a sway about the experience of using it. Embedding the sway below:

To or Not to

I started blogging, 

It was mind boggling

Whether to choose free hosting or self hosting?

[ Being hard pressed for money, I chose free ]

Whether to choose Wordpress or Blogger?

[ I am exploring it, and shall update thee ]

Ok enough of the sad attempt at poetry :D

Update 15 June 2014 

I didn't want to pay for hosting my website, so using wordpress.org, Joomla, Drupal were out.

I had to choose between Wordpress and Blogger.

I setup blogs in both :)

I liked Blogger because of the ease of monetisation .. or so it seemed! 

My blog doesn't qualify for Google Adsense as my blog should be up for minimum 6 months.

I started off with  wordpress

Wordpress themes are fun 

I liked illustratr theme. It is awesome, expect that it works best with "Projects" not posts

So, I took Pictorico theme and my blog just looks beautiful

Apparently I shouldn't duplicate posts across blogs according to this, 

so I have to write new content on Blogger.

So this is that first post!

Blogger themes are very few and boring. 'Dynamic view' is decent of the lot

Blogger editor looks like Word 97.

Update 20 June 2014

 Found Weebly. It is user centric. Makes creation of a website or blog fun and easy, especially for new users. It is also the only free blogging site that allows Google Adsense. My Weebly blog didn't get qualified for Adsense as I needed more content it.

Wordpress.com doesn't allow Adsense. It has WordAds, which is free, but only to blogs with paid domains.
